In the winter of 2023, Nathan and Dave — two dads navigating the early chaos of parenthood in New York City — found themselves cutting walks short. Not because their kids were cold, but because they were. Frozen hands gripping a stroller handle in 25-degree weather have a way of ending an outing fast.

The oven mitts and handlebar muffs on the market worked, sort of. But they were bulky, awkward, and looked like an afterthought bolted onto a $1,000 stroller. There had to be a better way.

Nathan brought the engineering background — years designing thermal and electrical components at companies like Dell. Dave brought the product and marketing instincts, having built consumer brands from the ground up. Together, they had exactly the skill set the problem demanded.

What followed was 18 months of prototyping, real-world testing on the streets of Brooklyn and Hoboken, and sourcing the premium materials the product deserved. The result is the Thermalux Heated Stroller Handgrip — the first of its kind, built for UppaBaby owners who refuse to compromise on comfort or aesthetics.

Velux exists because no one else built this. We're parents first, and that shapes every decision we make — from the vegan leather we chose to the safety standards we hold ourselves to.
